Our Service & Rental Area
Caravan West Productions provides a number of services as well as rental items for film, TV,
print and commercial productions.
We have only one goal: give period producers high quality
at an affordable cost.
Ask for our promotional tape to see the kind of thing we do or look up
our credits under "Who We Are" on the web site. Here’s what we offer:
Buckaroos.
These mounted historians come with (a) appropriate costumes (minimum of 3); (b) appropriate firearms; (c) movie wise
horse with period saddle and equipment. We have taken the time to choose reliable, professional, no nonsense people.
They show up on time and perform their job with no hassle.
Props and Set Dressing
a.  Appropriate to the period, in the past we have completely outfitted the studio towns of Melody Ranch, Disney
and Sable with saloon, barber shop, gun shops, blacksmith, general store, funeral parlor, grocery store, saddle
shop, freight depot, sheriff's office, etc.  We carry tipis and a variety of tents.
b.  Hand props include pocket watches, badges, quirts, short horse whips, flasks, canes, matchsafes, etc.
Livestock
(a) Our horses are all movie wise. We offer both riding and driving horses which includes the
correct period saddle, bridle, saddlebags and blanket.
(b) Our saddles are newly made on quarter horse bar trees. They fit today's modern (more
robust) horses properly, but are made in the style of the 1860's, 70's and 80's.
(c) Rolling stock as needed. We can offer a full load of wagons, chuck, buckboards, stage coaches,
covered, medicine show, buggies, and surries. All are working and are pulled by our horses.  Prices
vary with use, including horses, harness and driver. This does not include hauling charges to
location.
We subcontract for cows and the rates are always reasonable.
Town Extras.
We offer a full line of costumed extras, men, women and children, both SAG and non-SAG. Each extra has a job that
they responsible for and they receive a rental fee for their materials. For example, the bartender runs the bar and is
responsible for the bottles, tables, cards, glasses, lamps, chairs, games and wall displays. The gun smith runs the gun
shop. Other job classifications include blacksmiths, barber, general store, hardware store, restaurant, saloon girls.
Crew
(a) We offer wranglers, propmaster, costumer, set dressers and armorers. We have three advantages over other
companies. Our crew knows the period. They are all costumed at no extra charge and can be utilized as extras, thus
eliminating the need for 10-15 additional and costly extras.
(b) We work with several stunt coordinators who are budget conscious and can utilize the Buckaroos to their utmost
ability, i.e., shootouts, bar room fights, hard riding.
These prices do not include maintenance items such as cleaning costs. Trailers for props, armorer, etc. will need to be
provided by the production company.
Coordination
Peter Sherayko coordinates the above for all personnel, there will be an additional 10% agency fee.
Caravan West was created to be both producer friendly and provide unsurpassed quality in the area of period Westerns.
Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to making your project the best it can be.
Locations
On our home ranch, we have a 10 building town fully dressed, including a livery stable, blacksmith shop, saddle shop,
general store, saloon, cantina, sheriff's office and jail, meat market, gun shop, and A frame and wall tents for living
quarters.  It's made in the early Frontier fashion so as not to compete with the larger, more modern Western town sets.
Within one mile of our town, we have 1700 acres of wilderness land - plains, mountains, trails, roads, trees, valleys,
rivers, mines, buffalo wallows and canyons.  All of this is in Agua Dulce near Vasquez Rocks and within the studio
zone.
As we progress, we plan on adding more buildings, i.e., horses, church, a lake, farmhouse and barn and a 2 story
hotel facade to our existing warehouse building which is 30 x 60.  The nice thing about working at Caravan West is
everything is here.  Horses, costumes, guns, props and set dressing.
You can do the old Hollywood way - hiring background artists (extras) a pig in a poke - or you can populate your set
with folks who know and care about what they're doing - cowboys who can ride, gamblers who can play, storekeepers
who can tend to their business, whore who are..., gunmen who aren't afraid to pack iron.  In other words, your
background is filled with people who wear their own clothes (a savings in costume rentals) and know how to wear them
and look like they fit.  The Buckaroos not only have a desire to be part of the show, but have a passion for recreating
history.
Briefly, utilizing Caravan West is a win, win, win situation.  The program wins by getting quality at an affordable price.
We're always on time and under budget.  The audience wins because they get what's right and we win because we play
at waht we love.  There's no business like the hardware business and that's none of our business because our business is
show business!
Indians - Hey, How are you...Hey, how are you.   Sung to an indian beat.  All kidding aside.  We have a strong bond
and respect for the many cultures of Native Americans and our proud to work together to bring authenticity and realism
to the entertainment industry.  We work with many different tribes and reservations in bringing authentic items for film
use.  Among our inventory are: Navajo rugs and blankets, beadwork, headdresses, bows and arrows, quivers, coup
sticks, lances, tomahawks, knives, shields, pottery, baskets, drums, rattles, war clubs and jewelry.
No indian village is complete without hides and skins.  We feature buffalo, bear, wolf, fox, coyote, deer, beaver,
badger, rabbit and other creatures of the wild.  "What music they make."  Indians are part of the Buckaroos and we use
their knowledge and traditions to be faithful to history.
